****this is an untested recipe: i will be following up to let you know how they turn out.****
**** I repeat only a test recipe****
List of Ingredients:
~4 packets Knox unflavored gelatin.....updated from 2 (8 grams protein and 20 calories total)
~2 oz black cherry or tart cherry juice (for anti inflammatory properties)
~2 cups tea ..I made my own blend
(lemon ginger, spicy ginger, 3 slices ginger, 2 slice turmeric, dried rose hips, dried chamomile flowers)
~1-2 grams decarboxylated kief i used BLACK SHADOW INDICOL D kief
~2 tablespoons medicated honey (very easy to make)
Make Tea: 3 cups water..2 tea bags of your choice.....I added slices of fresh ginger and turmeric (powdered is ok if it's all you have)..dried rose hips and chamomile flower..they are known for anti-inflammatory and calming benefits. also because i already had them...bring to a boil ..let steep for 10 minutes or more..boil down to 2 cups or drink the rest......you really want to concentrate the flavors...
decarboxylate kief: if you skip this step your kief will not have the THC activated
bake in oven 10-15 minutes at 240 deg F
put on timer..do not over cook you will lose your THC/CBD content
add to 2 tbsp. medicated honey stir well....
strain tea into mason jar and add honey mixture...shake or stir until incorporated
tea mixture with kief and medicated honey stirred in
sprinkle pkts of gelatin over 2 oz cold fruit juice mix well and let sit for a min. it will become like
jelly it calls for 2 packets but i'm thinking i should have used all 4..for a firmer gummy...
.pour tea mixture back into sauce pan bring to a boil
once juice is jelled turn down heat add juice mixture and keep stirring with whisk until smooth
simmering about 5 minutes you want the gelatin to be smooth not gritty
ladle into silicone molds or a glass baking dish
ran out of room..
put a very thin layer in the glass pyrex dish easy to cut..
refrigerate until hardened at least 4 hours...
the only thing i'm concerned with is dosing..since they are for me it doesn't really matter....
1 gram / 1000 mg kief + 2 medicated tbsp honey i'm guessing is about 40 mg per tbsp..i made it so it's not exact.
so 1080 mg kief ..not sure what the THC equivalent is...
so if i divide what i have into 20 pieces 8 in the tray 12 slices from the pyrex..
.i'm gonna approximate each dose at 50 mg kief (not THC) each...so extremely weak...lol...
.I'm gonna need some more scientific equipment ;)
it sucks only having a little bit to work with...if i mess up a recipe the buds gone forever..
i hope they work...look for an update tomorrow and i will let you know how they affected me..
2:20 NOTES:
~ I would use more gelatin next time gummies are bit bit more jello like than a stable gummy
~taste is mild not overly sweetened, i was going for that..if you like sweet gummies just add more sugar or honey
~i ate two small squares from the pyrex at 2:20 ..i will check in again soon to see how I feel.
6pm still feel medicated head wise ..back and neck pain kicking up a bit so i will have another gummy square..no anxiety at all and ready to just relax ..
so I guess the recipe needs to be modified a bit...more gelatin...a bit more kief or maybe wax next time...but i really like the natural approach away from the boxed Jello because of the sugar and artificial colors...but try new things..you won't know what will work unless you try it...
